Hemorrhoids are a very common phenomenon nowadays. Almost 50% of the population must have suffered from its complication at some time or another. Although hemorrhoids is normally considered as a not so serious problem and off the counter drugs are enough to cure it but however sometimes conditions may aggravate and you might need to have a operation done to remove the hemorrhoids from the body.
Hence you should always take the expert advice of the doctors on what kind of problem you are facing and how critical is it. An effective diagnosis of the problem goes a long way in effective treatment. The most common signs of piles are bleeding in the rectum. However bleeding in the rectum might be caused by several other factors too hence taking expert advice is the most judicious thing to do in this case as bleeding is also the signs of co rectal cancer.
There are two types of hemorrhoids depending on the place where it is located
1.
Internal hemorrhoids: Internal hemorrhoids are the most difficult kind of hemorrhoids to detect because they are not visible to the naked eye .also they are relatively painless. The only significant difference might be found during the emission of stool. This is because strain caused by emission of stool might lead to injury on the delicate surface of the hemorrhoids causing it to bleed. As a result of this you might notice red blood on your toilet tissue or in the toilet bowl. But you never feel any pain. This is because internal anal membranes lack pain sensitive nerve fiber. But you might experience a feeling of fullness in your rectum following a bowel movement. Occasionally, straining can push an internal hemorrhoid through the anal opening. If a hemorrhoid is displaced it might cause irritation.
2. External hemorrhoids: This kind of hemorrhoids are far more painful than the internal hemorrhoids this is because in internal anal membranes lack pain sensitive nerve fibers but our external surface has a very sensitive pain nerve fiber. Often blood may pool in an external hemorrhoid and form a clot (thrombus), causing severe pain, swelling and inflammation. When irritated, external hemorrhoids can itch or bleed. Internal hemorrhoids cause mucus discharge and a sensation of incomplete evacuation, and external hemorrhoids cause difficulty in cleansing the anal region. |
